The Threshold Years

The time has come to take your throne

An eight-week intimate journey through the threshold years of midlife

Over eight weeks, we explore the threshold you are navigating through embodied practice, guided reflection and intimate conversation, while drawing on the rhythms of nature and astrology as mirrors for your own unfolding. Rather than rushing to fix what feels uncertain or find premature answers, you are invited to stay close to what is actually happening — including through a guided journey in nature — so that you can begin to recognise more clearly what this passage is asking of you, and inhabit your own knowing and authority with deeper trust.

A different kind of becoming

Midlife can strip away many of the ways we once knew how to belong, love, create, give and make sense of our lives. What once felt natural may no longer fit. Our tolerance for compromise changes. Old identities loosen. The ways we have given ourselves away become harder to sustain.
This can feel deeply disorienting, but it does not necessarily mean that something has gone wrong. Sometimes the very situations that unsettle us most become part of the fire of the passage — revealing what can no longer be negotiated away and asking us to inhabit ourselves more fully.
The Threshold Years is not a space for fixing yourself, finding quick answers, or returning to a way of being you may remember with longing. It is a space to observe more honestly what is happening within you — including the parts that are tired, angry, doubtful or no longer willing to play by the old rules — without allowing any one of them to define the whole story.
Through embodied attention, we begin to develop a different kind of trust: one that does not require life to feel safe, certain or uncomplicated. A trust rooted in our capacity to stay present, to acknowledge what is true, and to recognise and follow the next true movement when it becomes available.
For me, this is part of learning how to cross a threshold well: allowing what has ended to end without becoming hardened by it, reclaiming our energy without closing our hearts, and making enough space for a new creative expression of our lives to emerge.

Who Is This Journey For?

This journey is for women moving through the threshold years of midlife — whether through perimenopause, menopause, or simply the unmistakable sense that something fundamental is changing.
You may find yourself less willing to compromise, accommodate or keep inhabiting ways of being that once worked for you. You may be grieving what is ending, uncertain about what comes next, or sensing a stronger, more creative and self-authorised part of you asking for room.
You do not need to know where you are going. Only to be willing to meet this passage honestly, listen to what it is asking of you, and allow the next movement to reveal itself in its own time.

What you will begin to experience

A clearer sense of the threshold you are moving through — what is changing, what may be ending, and what no longer belongs in the life ahead.
A deeper trust in your body, intuition and inner knowing, alongside a greater capacity to stay present when the way forward is not yet clear.
Greater freedom to let your life move in accordance with what you know to be true — rather than continually negotiating, explaining or defending it.
Renewed contact with your desire, creativity and individual gifts, and with the parts of you that are asking for fuller expression.
A more embodied relationship with your own authority — and a growing readiness to recognise and follow the next true movement when it becomes available.

Some words from Daphne...

Thresholds have shaped almost all of my adult life. I have changed countries, homes, careers, relationships and directions more times than I can count — often leaving one life before I could clearly see what would replace it. For many years, I was also the person encouraging others to take the leap: the wild voice saying that if something no longer felt alive, perhaps it was time to move.
Long before thresholds became the centre of my work today, I was already working with them. In my early thirties, I created Open Platform, a programme for young people questioning conventional career paths. I later founded Transition Mentoring, and for a time coached with an organisation called Crossing Thresholds. Looking back, the thread is almost comically clear.
What I understand differently now is that crossing a threshold well is not simply about having the courage to jump. I always knew fear was there, but I was much more identified with the part of me that knew I had to move. I had not yet learnt how to remain present to both — the knowing that something must change, and the part that is frightened, grieving, angry, doubtful or simply not ready to trust what comes next.
Midlife has deepened that understanding. I am less interested now in encouraging anyone to leap, and more interested in creating the conditions in which we can listen closely enough to recognise our own movement when it comes. Not overriding fear. Not allowing fear to run the whole story. Not romanticising the unknown. And not demanding certainty before we move.
This is the place from which I hold The Threshold Years: not as someone standing on the other side with the answers, but as a woman with a long and lived relationship to crossing — and an increasing respect for everything that needs to be met along the way.

From those who have journeyed with me

“Daphne offered me the softness, acceptance and embrace I needed for healing. At the same time she provided me with the structure, activities and 1:1 sessions that grounded me, lit my inner fire and empowered me to actually feel able to actively follow through with the changes I wish.
I feel really grateful to leave with this new knowledge and experience… an inner balance which feels like a structural change within me. If you are in an in-between period, slightly confused but feel ready to change, for sure book this experience.”

“I have learned a lot about the beauty and wisdom my body can hold and how I can access it through conscious movement. My receptivity and appreciation for my body has increased a lot, and with it the knowing and trusting that diving into the physicality of my emotions and its natural movement will always bring me towards more life and abundance.”
